Oakdale Wesleyan Church
A Family of Disciples Making Disciples
Oakdale Wesleyan Church reaches our community and world with the love and good news of Jesus Christ, crossing lines of ethnicity, socio-economics, and life-stage, and shepherds people in their spiritual walk.
Our Core Values
Seeking the Missing
We believe that it is God’s desire that every person on the face of the earth comes to know Him through His son Jesus Christ. “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone
to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). We desire to create an environment that fosters this call upon our lives, and where those who want to know more about God can discover Him. We believe in having a relationship with God more than merely practicing “religion.” God does not want to have rituals or religious routines that become hollow and empty, but to call every person on the face of the earth one of His children.
Life in Christ is an adventurous journey that can take us to incredible places but to make the journey successfully and enjoy the trip it is important to gain proper training and support to keep you safe and to maximize your potential. We engage in spiritual formation, fellowship, and service for people of every age and stage of life.
Ministering to All (Local and Global Ministry)
We are not alone in the world, therefore we can not ignore the needs of our neighbors. Jesus summed up the entire Bible in two statements. First, “Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, soul, and mind,” which leads us to do the best we can at discipling the followers of Jesus that he has lead to us. Second, Jesus instructed us to “Love our neighbors as ourselves.” In a world that is filled with hurt and pain this admonition is now more important than ever. The church is called to be a light to our hurting world, to give cups of cold water in Jesus name, to bandage the hurting, to give comfort to the grieving, to give love to the lonely. We believe that as Christians we are not called to just sit in church, but we must be actively engaged in our world by giving ourselves away in personal and corporate ministry. Therefore it is our commitment that every believer has a place to grow, a place to worship, and a place to serve.
We are part of The Wesleyan Church, and align ourselves with its Vision, Mission, and Emphasis Areas.
